Bt Cotton in India

Paruthi

Cotton has a long history and its cultivation has undergone many changes throughout this period. Cotton farming is widely prevalent today today, but cotton can be a problematic crop. In India, the crop is cultivated in states in the north (Punjab, Haryana), west (Gujarat, Maharashtra) and south (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu). Non-traditional regions include Andhra Pradesh. A large number of approved Bt cotton hybrids are cultivated across India.

I used to maintain a page of links to news on Bt cotton, but have not added to it since April 2008. I intend to start updating it again. At some point.
